The Western Scrabble Network is keen to promote tournament Scrabble across all age groups. Recognising that young people are currently under-represented in the Scrabble community at present, we are pleased to announce the following initiative.

12 months free membership to the Western Scrabble Network for juniors!

Conditions:

• Must be aged 17 years or younger.
• Must live in Australia.
• Must have competed in a nationally rated tournament and achieved an average score of over 250.
  

Upon verification of the above details, the applicant will be granted full membership of the Western Scrabble Network for 12 months. Current Western Scrabble Network members who meet the above criteria will have their membership extended for 12 months.

Apart from being a facility which enables players to connect with each other, we offer the ability to be able to participate in regular on-line tournaments which can be enjoyed from the comfort and convenience of home.

We believe that the major benefit is that allows junior players to feel like they are a part of the Scrabble-playing community even though they may be disadvantaged by inability to attend tournaments as regularly as adults are able to, and to provide ongoing encouragement and support.

We would like to encourage all current tournament players to get behind this initiative and ‘spread the word’ to prospective junior players and their parents. We believe this will prove to be an effective method of encouraging young people to participate, whilst still upholding the standards of play that we hold dear.
